Strengthened Security Features

For those users handling confidential documents, the imagePROGRAF TX Series printers feature improved security capabilities from previous devices. An encrypted hard drive with IPSec support, as well as SSL/TLS and 802.x authentication can provide operators with peace of mind knowing that their privileged information is more securely protected than in the past.

802.1x Authentication - IEEE 802.1x authentication is a specification that can prevent devices other than predetermined ones from connecting to a computer network. Once this method of authentication has been introduced for network connections, communication from devices other than those authenticated by the server can be blocked. (Wired connections only.)

SNMPv3 - SNMP is a protocol enabling online monitoring and control of devices connected to a TCP/IP network. Authentication and encryption can be configured in the security settings of SNMPv3.

SSL/TLS - SSL and TLS are technologies used to encrypt communication over the Internet. When users access a printer via a web browser, a server certificate is installed on the printer to help provide safe, encrypted communication using SSL/TLS. In SSL/TLS communication, a server certificate and public key are used to generate a shared key, used only by the user and printer, to help prevent external intrusion.

IPSec - IPSec protocols use encryption to help protect from interception, tampering, or spoofing that targets IP packets sent over an IP network. Because IPSec adds security functions to IP, a basic protocol suite used for the Internet, it can protect the data sent regardless of the applications or network configurations used.

Panel Lock by Remote UI - Administrators can prevent all use of the operation panel by users - a first for imagePROGRAF Large-format printers!

Remote UI Multilevel - Using Remote UI, the access rights of users can be restricted

Hide IP From Panel - Using Remote UI, the access rights of users can be restricted

Panel Access Control - Allows you to restrict printer operations and prevent users from viewing certain information, executing menu commands or changing settings.

Job Storage and PIN Printing - For added security, the administrator password to log-in to Remote UI has change from 7 digits to 32 digits and the password for storage on the hard disk has also changed from 4 digits to 7 digits.

Self Encrypting Hard Disk - The printer's hard disk, print jobs and other data is encrypted before it is written or stored on the hard disk to help protect confidential information

Secure Disc Erase - With secure disc erase, the disk's data encryption key is erased and the entire disk is overwritten with 00, FF, and random data. After this, verification is performed to ensure the data was written correctly. This method of disc erase conforms to U.S. Department of Defense standard DoD5220.22-M.

Secure File Erase* - Similar to Secure Disk Erase, Secure File Erase allows for specific files to be erased and overwritten with 00, FF, and random data. After this, verification is performed to ensure the data was written correctly. This method of file erase conforms to U.S. Department of Defense standard DoD5220.22-M.
